Mark is a design and construction expert in the Infrastructure Sector with a career spanning bridges, roads, railways, and underground structures. Starting as a bridge engineer, he has led multi-disciplinary teams on major projects across the UK, Ireland, Hong Kong, China, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, and Malaysia.
Mark’s passion lies in delivering innovative, cost-effective engineering solutions. He has pioneered construction methods that enhance buildability, reduce costs and minimise carbon. His work on the Elizabeth Line (Crossrail) Central Section, HS2 and on the NEOM Infrastructure are notable highlights.
Mark has held key roles, including Chairman at Benaim, Managing Director of URS in Hong Kong and AECOM’s Engineering Director, Global Technical Excellence. He has managed his teams to achieve their peak performance and has an extensive network in the industry.
Mark is a Visiting Professor at the University of Bath and an occasional lecturer at the University of Cambridge. His engineering excellence has been recognised by being elected a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering. His creative design skills led to the award of an Honorary Fellowship of the Royal British Institute of British Architects.
